You know that scene in The Castle where Darryl Kerrigan asks his son Steve to move the cars:
Darryl: "Steve, could you move the Camira? I need to get the Torana out so I can get to the Commodore."
Steve: "I'll have to get the keys to the Cortina if I'm gonna move that Camira."
Darryl: "Yeah, watch the boat mate."
That is how it's gotten at Good Day Rentals HQ. But we are pretty great at holding it all together and being polite and profesh while moving eight lounges to get to one goddamn chair. No one ever gets told to stuff it up their jumper or pull their head in.
Before all the politeness and professionalism runs out, we purchased a warehouse. How very grown-up of us! Soon we will have proper shelving and a workshop and a lovely office and meeting space to see clients and heaps of sanity and good cheer. And still no one is getting told to take a hike or tell their story walking. Because this has not been stressful at all. NO YOU CALM DOWN.
We have to do some construction but we hope and pray to have moved in by the end of October. As a result, we aren't doing furniture viewings at the moment - because the furniture is in storage during construction, along with the fridge and the bins and the mops and the office stuff and the tools and whatnot. You don't need to see that.
But we will have an enormous opening party once we are all set-up where no one will be stress drinking away the past six months' hardships and waking up with bruises on their legs because they fell over a couch because they were stress drunk and "where did that couch come from?" You are all invited but wear shin guards okay, because those couches jump out.
The new place is in Sunshine West. Pray for us OK, because construction.
